Oh, go on, you lot. Have your fun.

It's all grist to the mill as far as I'm concerned.

As a photographer, I'm out standing in my field.

There was a local Scarecrow that won a prize for being oustanding in his field :)

I've been out again today to a different area. I told you the wheat was ready for harvesting and they're busy at it now. So no more wheat and poppy photos for a whole year. Never mind, here are today's to keep you going

At the bottom of a tricky hill I found a mountain biker with a broken collarbone who'd been brought off by tree roots. I was feeling a bit smug as I'd just ridden them and didn't have a broken collarbone. I really wanted to take a photo of him because I knew you'd want me to but I couldn't think of the right way to ask him

Love the depth of field in the first shot Ian. :welldone:

You've probably said this before but what camera gear are you using?

Most of the wheat and barley has been harvested around here. Perhaps because we haven't had so much rain.

Hi Larry. Thanks for your comments. Nothing fancy as far as equipment goes. I need something small to pop in my backpack as I have to carry it around for two or three hours while I'm biking.

It's a Canon Powershot G12. I assume you meant the first of the last batch of pictures (the harvesting)? I used Av aperture priority and set the aperture to the maximum f8 and the camera set a speed of 1/250. ISO was 100 and the zoom was about 100mm. I hand hold and rely on the IS as I can't carry a tripod on the bike. This is the biggest problem as I'm usually out of breath and there's usually a wind blowing  I shoot in RAW and use Canon's basic software for simple cropping, sharpening, brightness and colour tweaks.

Ian :)
