And the Olympic peninsula demo area of the Pacific North West has the added attraction of a payware quality airport included. Bowerman - which is superb.

Just looking through the files in FSX and P3D to clarify something; the migrator tool does NOT move all the FTX files across from FSX to P3D. P3D just refers to them within FSX. New Orbx P3D installers are being rolled out gradually, but for now it seems an FSX ( or dummy FSX ) install is necessary. No great problem, and I seriously doubt whether all FSX add-ons will ever come with a direct-to-P3D installer anyway, so the older sim will need to sit there. Might uninstall it and move it to the OS drive, however.

EDIT: Apparently Orbx is developing a 'mover' tool that will actually copy the files across, so thats good news . Other than that, Migrator Tool v1.3 has done all that is needed for now.

Cheers, Paul. I'll probably do the same as you and install FSX first and just use it for any FTX scenery that isn't P3D install. And use the ORBX migrator to point to it. Any other FSX stuff I want to install, I can just use the 'Estonian' migration tool and put it straight into P3D.

I'm particularly thinking of Pacific Fjords (into FSX) and Tongass Fjords X (into P3D). I know you've got them both so I'll see how you get on. Don't forget - I'm right behind you all the way

Ian :)

 Chicken.

Ben, paid the small fee for a REX Essentials P3D license this afternoon ( $4.99) and I am a foil-free zone now. Much much better water effects all round. Something odd happened however - I had REX running and had not long taken off when the aircraft gave an almighty lurch, and descended rapidly. I sorted it out, but the altimeter was reading around 7000 ft where I could not have been more than a 1000 ft up, judging by the scenery and size of passing vehicles. Barometer setting was spot on, so I have no idea what happened. I had to reset the flight to fix it. *-)

By the way Ben...after buying the P3D license for REX Essentials, how long does it take to gain access to the P3D forum there ?

Honest answer is that I didn't even know there was a P3D section, but I've now posted requesting access, so we'll see what comes ;)

Hi Paul,

They sorted me out with a few minutes. Basically you need to add your order number and in the case of the P3D license your customer number to your signature and then post here http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/fo ... on-thread/

They'll then verify your account and grant access to the forums

Ah right, well I know about my original Flightsim Store REX order number because its required to be shown in my forum signature - but where do I find my P3D license 'customer number' ? *-)

It should have come in the email you got when you bought the license. My email was entitled "REX GAME STUDIOS, LLC Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation"

Okay, I haven't had that email. I've checked my Hotmail account's Inbox and Junk folders, but nothing there. Hmmm....
