Hi Garry. Not at all nowadays. It's all gangs of old geezers with badges and fancy cameras.

It was different in the days of steam but these diesels or electrics have no soul. Kids nowadays have got more sophisticated things to do

Ian :)

Thank you for caring, Joe. It does help me through my troubled day

It was another testing one yesterday. 350 drunk footie fans out of Fratton and later 200 drunks on the last train out of Bristol and Bath

On that one, I had two trains coupled together with no through corridor and inevitably some clown decided to pull the communication lever. Midnight, pitch dark, middle of nowhere, both trains full of drunks, emergency stop and if I'm in the front train, guess where the lever had been pulled? 8)

I'm too old for pulling on my hi-viz and climbing down onto ballast and clambering up into another train and then fighting my way through abusive idiots to try to find the lever to reset and then fighting my way back to let the driver know the outcome. Oh well - one thing about the job is it's not boring and it pays well. That's two things, actually :worried:

Ian :)
