Thanks for the heads up Joe.
Watched most of it from 70000 onward. Very interesting and quite tense after seeing how much of a struggle it was for him to get through the pre jump checklist.
'.................... Just give us a thumbs up.................................................. at a boy Felix!'
Great stuff and glad for everyone that he made it down ok.

Cheers
David

That may have been the single most insane thing I've ever watched! :-O Guy definitely has more guts than I do!

... I wonder if Felix left Kittingers free fall record as a thanks for his help.
Maybe. I heard an interview with Joe Kittinger on the radio a couple of weeks ago and he seems like a great guy.

Missed it. Did Felix break the sound barrier ?

 something tells me the sound barrier is still intact ... if you're catching my drift.
;)

One of the more tense moments for me was the launch. 700 feet from ground to top of balloon with no more than 2mph of wind?.
That'd never happen here in Florida. *-) oo

They're saying 833.9mph, mach 1.24 :-O although that still has to be officially confirmed.

OK I admire his courage I sure as hell would not step out on that plinth, dammit I get giddy if I stand up too quick, but what is the real value of this stunt. Scientific value? None as far as I can see, it's been done before at slightly less altitude. I did like the ignorance of the commentator when the air started warming up again into the Stratoshpere - "it's because he is getting closer to the Sun". Oh dear.
Sorry if I cannot get all gushy about the stunt, I'm a contrarian.
