Good set of photos.

I have seen at least 3 aircraft delivered to Duxford, they are the Britannia which was delivered on one of the Air Display days, the B29 'Hawg Wild' and Concorde.
IIRC Concorde did a high flyby, approach and go round and a final landing. I think it used a brake parachute to reduce the landing roll. I'll dig out my photos and check. I have a silent cine film of Concorde landing. Thinks to self .... I must transfer to digital!

Just remembered I have a photo of the B17 on its delivery, it was silver and registered N17E.

I realy must do some scanning and converting. As I am retired I should have time to do it.

By the way anyone know of the best way to scan slides and negatives?

I'm getting quite excited now - where are those boxes?

Yes you must John! Many eager eyes await in these hallowed halls

Agree with Ben.. Eric is a good man to ask about scanning and/or Pete Pitman (PeteP) who has spent a hell of a long time archiving slides at Tangmere. You can get dedicated slide/transparancy scanners or buy a flatbed that is 'slide' capable. Whichever suits your needs best and at whatever cost you wish to pay

IIRC there was a bit of a 'push' to get all possible 'large aeroplane' fly-ins into Duxford before M11 got in the way.

BTW John, 'Screenshotworld.com' is 'open' again..

The B-29 was flown in, as was the F-111, A-10 and the Huey I seem to recall. Most of the other stuff in the American Air Museum arrived by road or slung under a US military helicopter, then reassembled.
