It was a fun build Andy. I downloaded the instructions (in PDF form) from Lego.com and just followed along. Lots of fun.

I'll wager you started trying to build the airliner model from teh mid 80s and then found that even in the unlocked mode, LDD is lacking the vertical tail part and hence moved the engines under the wings and created a variation on it?

Ha ha, no. It's one of the sets that I never had as a child but always wanted. Not surprising probably for someone having been a child in the late 1980s and now chatting on this forum.

Here's my effort to finish it (differently, due to the missing parts )

I made some changes to the wing, tail and the colours, and made it a more realistic length!

If I can find it in the tip that is my garage, I'll post a picture. A couple of years ago a mate an I poured all of my Lego on the floor, and made everything I'd kept the instructions for from mid-80s to early 90s! That was one of them (along with the yellow airport and red fourjet).

A KLM Fokker 100. Looks great Toby! I've just started work on the Tower Bridge model.

Thanks Roger. I'm thinking that I have a good eight hours invested in her. The 'clone' tool is a great time-saver. On this model I actually built only one tower...the second tower is a clone of the first. The second tower was built in 3 mouse clicks. Next up is the Taj Mahal. 5,922 bricks of pure insanity.

Ok, last LDD post I promise. Found a really nice freeware app which converts your LDD models into the POV file format. This allows you to make some very nice renders of your LDD models using POV-Ray. The app is 'LDD to POV-Ray Converter' and can be downloaded here. http://ldd2povray.lddtools.com/ Below I've attached a render of my Tower Bridge LDD model and a close up of a model I threw together to test making close up renders. I love the way the models show the self-shadowing and reflective effects.
