As has been mentioned elsewhere, the "standard" USAF colour scheme for the RJ may have a practical reason for being gloss white on top, particularly when we choose to engage ourselves in the middle east. :)

As for AAR, we'll still be too broke to do anything by ourselves until the OSD of the RC-135, so one can argue there'll always be a USAF tanker around. 8) :lol:

Also guys, most of the Rivet Joints have belly tanks like the KC-135's do, giving them extraordinary range and loiter capability, somewhere in the area of 24-26 hours based on what the KC-135's can do on ferry flights. The CFM-56's are exceedingly fuel efficient and the tankage is excellent considering it was designed to give the plane a 2000+nm range and still offload close to 50,000 pounds to a B-52 after flying out 1,000nm, all while powered by fuel guzzling turbojet engines.
