Very nice of the bystander in the foreground to squat down so as not to obstruct the view of the nose wheel.

I think she's just enjoying the heat rising from the concrete, it's universal you know......

If they do hang on to it, it would be nice to see that VC10 eventually back in its BOAC colours.

So during the cold war it would have been in gold speedbird livery...
That's a fair point!
I did realise it used to be ASGM, but I thought it may have made it into tanker service with a few seconds of the Cold War left to run. But no, I've just checked the dates.
Perhaps they should keep XV108 instead?
As I understand it, the ex-airliner K4 would be the best bet to get clearance for any future flying. Maybe that's part of the reason?
BTW the crouching girl with the cold bottom is my Sam, along with two cousins. Under 16s go for free!

Good grief David! What age is she now? It doesn't seem that long ago you were telling us she'd been born! We're getting old matey

And every year it gets quicker!
Sam's got to a ripe old age of 8 (and a half). Pippa is 1 year 8 months.
I'm getting proper old now though. Even Jo's 40 next year. Hell, she used to be 19!!
In the words of Basil Fawlty - Voom!.... What was that?.... That was your life mate.

Hello David,
I had had good reason to suspect that the bystander belonged to you. what common bystander would be so well behaved as to crouch down so you would be be able to get a nice piccy of the VC10.

Blimey David
I did wonder but I remember your pic of her with the joystick and captioned "Quality entertainment for two-year-olds".
I thought that was only a couple or three years ago...but now I think about it
