Hi Alex,

Certainly makes you wonder about it all with figures like that, it hurts your brain!

I am old enough to have seen Sputnik coming across the sky and now regularly watch the ISS ,i don't know why really as it's just a bright light crossing but it's because of the crew members on board, that to me is still a marvel,

What i don't understand is this need to go to Mars, what a waste of money , it's a shame they did'nt concentrate on the Moon, at least we know man can go there, anyway that's just my opinion!

Mind you we could do with a load of little Green men arriving here by the hundreds that would unite us all [for a while i guess]!

I was excited when I thought I could spot the Earth but turns it it was Tethys as I discovered further down the page. Oh well, it doess give one another perspective on our place in the Universe.

The whole shebang is more magnificent and intriguing than our imaginations, methinks!

I couldn't even see Earth until they had it highlighted in the lower picture. Maybe I need a bigger screen

Rog.... even with a magnifying glass, I don't see Earth in the top picture.
Perhaps it's because I'm overwhelmed wondering what great evil was performed by this ball of gas.
After all, the text refers to the "enormity" of the planet.

Makes me think we are quite special. There is nothing even close to the complexity of our planet. More importantly , us.


I firmly believe it's solid proof we are more than just a form of meaningless protoplasm... the sum of a fortuitous concourse of atoms.

So, maybe the question we're asking ourselves is what's the purpose of all the other bits and pieces that surround us.
