Some poor bugger might find it difficult to get work in anything other than a Cherokee

Well they will at least be able to salvage most of the aircraft more so the engines and fly it all back for spares so it's not all lost!
Like they say Sh## happens!

It has the new interior that they will install in an aircraft due to be retained but not yet outfitted.
So they have all that plus all the new bits from the overhaul.
It is, in fact, a very good spares source.
They are going to part it out on site.
They can probably bring most of the bits back piecemeal in the holds of service flights.
Whether this means another earmaked for part out will be retained remains to be seen.
On the subject of ground damage, G-DOCB was spun arround at Gatwick in the recent high winds. The pitot tubes were destroyed and there is damage to the fuselage. Since all 737 are now due to leave the fleet this year there is doubt that this will be repaired.
BA have bought a fleet of used A.320's from various sources and these are to be used to clear out the Boeings.
This is a recent decision and see the type forcibly removed ASAP rather than the steady wind down they had planned.
I guess the fleet is becoming too small to economically operate for a large airline so a move to standardise is a quick fix.
