Ah, I remeber the I-Spy cars book. For aircraft I had (and still have) "The Observer's Book of Aircraft" 1958 edition compiled by William Greene and Gerald Pollinger. The cover illustration depicts a prototype Breguet 1001 Taon single seater strike fighter. However on page 32 there is a picture and entry for the Avro Vulcan B.2, long a favourite of mine.
