I've never come across that one before either Dave and thought it may have been a typo. However, a quick Google search led me to this page
http://luthorien.altervista.org/Tools/morse.htm which shows 4 dashes being used for the accented letter 'CH' so maybe it's used in non-English morse. I've never seen the codes for the other accented letters before either.

should have been -/---
The error was made by a reporter, though the originator hit the edge of the paper with one dash and started a new line with the next three.
This was easily accomplished under the circumstances which were described in the message.

Gents , bit late but I thought it might have been an O and a T , or a T and an O .... or even 0[Zero ] minus a T .... Hat , coat , door .
