So it's my understanding that HD Trees (like OpenLC) replaces default textures, which means that if Treescapes uses default autogen textures, then that should reap the same benefits as a default installation would ...
I guess the question on all Treescapes users lips is does Treescapes use default trees. I certainly don't know. Treescapes installs into GenX areas but what it actually calls is anyones guess It's been so long since I've seen a default tree in a default area.. I'd not know one if I flew into one
EDIT: I've had a look at the detail for this and while it doesn't mention Treescapes.. it does say that it is not compatible with other autogen replacement software. Whether Treescapes comes under autogen replacement software is open to negotiation as GenX doesn't have any but I've a strong hunch it is. OK.. the Treescapes trees are placed to match OS detail and GenX but their volume is controlled by the Autogen slider.
No. You can de-activate them (via FTX Central v2 which is installed with them ) to revert to standard ORBX trees, but the manual specifically states this will not restore the stock textures.
The manual can be downloaded free from the product page in the FTX site

Ah pants.. yes. I read the manual yesterday and remember it said it would but FTX Centralv2 on your desktop. This said.. it also mentioned that the desktop icon could be deleted if you have no other ORBX product. I really don't want to end up with something I can't get rid of again. Treescapes is like this.. it could be uninstalled via the ESI installer but the trees remained. On the other hand.. you could uninstall Guernsey and all the southern region trees would go. No wonder they went out of business My trees are kinda jury rigged at the moment and I really don't want to start upsetting them if I don't need to.
Instead.. I've pretended to buy something new and have downloaded the latest full version of the Majestic Dash8 (I missed a couple of patches.. didn't bother cause I hardly ever fly the darned thing)!! It's never been on this install of Win7 or FSX so the nightmare begins again Actually.. I've just flown it from Culdrose to Newquay and no one died. Despite it's 'Pro' tag.. I don't think I've ever read the manual

I was quite happy using the FS2004 trees from Shep's Shed for my local area (Cornwall and parts of Devon) and then went and bought at Christmas, Alderney for £1 from Earth Simulations. Installing this, its changed all of my lovely trees to theirs and not being a fan of Treescape, am at the moment stuck with these ever so large and so green trees. I might try to re-install the old 2004 ones over the top and hopefully then a normal service will be resumed?
Yes Martin.. the scale of FSX trees has been a bone of contention for a long time and Treescapes does nothing to address this. This said.. I'd sooner see Treescapes than nothing at all. A rock and a hard place
