I know I'm being a bit thick 8) but ... having used a computer generated password for the latest login fiasco, how do I change my password ? .I've looked 'everwhere' for a clue but obviously, not in the right place.

The fastest way is probably to click on forgot my password that's on the sign in page.
youll be sent a password and a link i believe that will take you directly to the appropriate webpage
or go to your profile settings page after logging in.
