I stand corrected

I recall that many years ago the USAAF actually ordered the Jetstream for light transport and navigator training. The order was blocked by the US Congress or Senate and the real aircraft were never delivered. However Airfix did issue a 1/72 kit of the Jetstream which included American markings. I understand that the cancellation reason was that the Jetstreams would be built in the UK rather than the USA.
