Oh Dear! the initial views given here do not look very promising though I suspect like every new model released that there will in time, be some updates to address the faults.
What concerns me mostly is why was this not picked up by the beta testers as they have had ample time to test this model before being released.
Had the company approached Dave and all those associated with Derek's model and asked them to undertake the tests then I am sure that it would have been released with nearly the same handling qualities as the Derek's.
Really be interesting to find out what the comments are as to the Just Flight Comet and Viscount are in comparison to the free-ware ones here as I have been pondering whether to dip into my piggy bank but something inside tells me don't expect them to be as good as the CBFS ones!
Can anyone comment on this?
Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,
Save your money. DMs Comet is far superior, and the only thing the Viscount brings is a VC. I bought the Viscount, flew it once, hangared it.

Hi Colin,
very many thanks for your comments. I will keep flying DM's Comet and Ricks Viscount in FSX then.
Regards
Nigel.

I've ticketed the trim issue with JF though I'm not sure it will be dealt with any time soon as the Dove/Devon isn't listed (yet) in the 'Select product' window.

Just noticed - the supplied flight puts you over maximum weight but having fixed that the trim issue remains.

Shoe-horned Dereks FD into the JF model. Handles much better now.
Fixed the shiny bits with a bit of texture editing.

There's a couple of switches to control the steps & RBF tags etc. You did read the manual, didn't you Dave?

I've been considering doing just that
As John pointed out.. the model loads overweight so I tried kicking ALL the pax out onto the tarmac (those that were loaded and it was by no means full) and have just flown around an hour with 2 pilots and their baggage. It
helps with trim but doesn't eradicate the problem by some way. It's an odd one and no mistakin'

Time for the FS9 airfile and cfg me thinks
We've all sounded a bit negative thus far (dear reader) but there
are things to like about the model.. at least I
hope there are

I've just tried the RN Mk6 paint which has a much better 'period' panel than the Mk8 (G-DHDV).. I'm sure it didn't have all that modern stuff in there when we flew in it from Coventry.. though again.. I can't help thinking that the flightdecks should look less like museum pieces than they do.
I had no idea what the repaint 'extras' were until I installed them and to be honest.. I'd not have bothered had I known what I was going to get. I'm sure Peter Watkins will do us all proud in that department
Late edit: Read the manual?? Wash your mouth out

No.. I came in from work.. bought and downloaded the model.. installed it.. flew it once then went to bed. No time for manuals at that time of night shipmate

Fortunately.. I had the good sense not to mention anything like that in my JF ticket.. just the trim issue
