Are you sure ? The fin does not look like a DC-3 to me
That's just the angle, it is HB-ISC, have a look at these photos on Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/search?keyword ... lay=detail

There are only two airworthy DC-2s around as far as I know, one of them carries KLM colours and is near me at Lelystad Airport, The Netherlands (although it doesn't fly often) and the second one is in Seattle, in TWA colours. You'll find photos of both examples through a generic search for DC-2s on Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/search?aircraf ... lay=detail

No problem! How about a gratuitous DC-2 photo? ;)

This was in 2009 at a KLM open house day.

Thanks for all the comments. As it happens, I am hopefully off to Lelystad this w/e. Will be boring my other half about planes  and try to post some photos next week.

I'll probabely be at Lelystad as well this Sunday, as I'm scheduled to work there that day. Just let me know if you want to meet up for a chat and a drink at the end of the day.

Hi Jelle, sorry only saw this now. Actually, we were there yesterday and if the weather there is anything like here (Moers, Nordrheinwestfalen) then I think we picked the better day. Still, I am over this way several times a year, so might be possible to meet up one time in the future.

Hi Toby, No problem, you did indeed pick the better day. Sunday saw some pretty serious rainfall in the morning although the afternoon improved enough to do some flying. Hope you enjoyed your visit! Just give a shout when you're in the area again.
