Some very interesting facts about bananas can be found here:

Amongst the listed facts, many people find that rubbing the inside of a banana skin can reduce the irritation caused by a mosquito bite. Not that I have seen any mosquitos here!

I go to Tescos and buy there ripen at home bananas. Take about three days but least you know they will not be rotten.

I didn't know that mosquitoes bit bananas, Nige! You learn something every day here.
Actually, I react badly to mosquito bites, I wish I could rub inside my skin, push the poison out from underneath.
