It's not "dry" - you just can't bring your own. You are perfectly welcome to visit one of the licenced areas, and pay three times over the odds for a small plastic tumbler of VB (Vomit Brew). :wasntme:

No DaveM,
I'm assuming that there's not another meaning for "F*sters" in this reply.
VB is Victoria Bitter. Unlike MikeW (Queensland, therefore Vic. beer hater), I find VB a refreshing drink. :guinn:
Also, unlike MikeW, I have been known to quaff Castlemaine XXXX aka Fourex, which is one of his local brews.
I used to drink Fosters Lager when I was younger; it has a milder, nutty flavour.
If MikeW were to say something awful about NSW beer, I'd have to agree.
We all know that, despite SA beer being made from seawater and alka seltzer, it can be thirst quenching on a hot day, which are often in SA.
Haven't tasted any WA brew since the 1970s, so I can't opine.
Of course, MikeW is right when he says that you can buy it there if you're wealthy.
I'm not looking to booze during the show anyway, I need legspeed to whizz me to the next point of interest.
Apart from that, cheaper always tastes better to me! :agree:

I saw that bit of small print also and wondered - are you sure you're going Mike? I'm not saying you're pickled or anything but what is your blood to alcohol ratio? Also - didn't Brian Ferry sing about this airshow?

Yep, but he did the version slower than a parked warbird, Chris!

Well, Mike, I arrived in NSW in 1968 and lived there until the job took me to QLD in 1994 and I've been here ever since. Toohey's was the best, esp their black Old. Tooth's was OK, and their Resch's Country Special was very nice, but hard to get in the city. Emu Lager? To the West, I go not - nor the West End nor Southwark, both SA brews. Coopers is real beer and the only SA beer to drink.
Fourex? Well, recently they joined the trendies and brought out an IPA, which is very nice. Even Tony-next-door, Queensland through and through, said "Fourex finally made a decent beer!"
As to Foster's, in the early 1980s Foster's were invading Edinburgh (the Scottish one), turning decent respectable 600yr-old pubs into plastic and chrome clip joints. Youngest bro John complained bitterly that he could no longer get a pint of Guinness' in his local..."You look at a pint of Guinness, you can see there's meat and drink there, it is rich and dark, unlike that bl***y Fosters, thin and yellow like something the cat did on the carpet." :guinn:
