I certainly hope not. Anyone who ever witnessed a North American driver attempt to negotiate a roundabout will understand. For some reason the whole concept escapes them. And they insist o calling them circles..... :rant: 8)

When the treadmill has reached a predetermined speed, and the aircraft wheels are spinning very fast, stop the treadmill. The aircraft will reach flying speed very quickly, therefore needing a much shorter runway. I suggest that the Heathrow planners think about this for their third runway.

For the landing, when the aircraft touches down, reverse the treadmill.

Easy peasy!

A friend of mine had an experience similar to the above on a treadmill. He was in a gym. There was a power cut. He ran Splat into the wall in front of him :-O .
