Arrived in Adak Island, Alaska. I had sought some advice on which aircraft to use, while the Baron 58 was listed as having a range of around 1500nm, Adak was 1605 nm, but more than a few suggested with expected tail winds you should have no trouble. Except I did not get the expected tail winds and with my back of the napkin calculations I was going to run out of fuel 50nm short. So I diverted to Eareckson Air Station on Shemya island, Alaska. I left at dawn from Nakashibetsu, Japan but it was very dark by the time I got to Shemya (I should have left 3 hours earlier) and there was a nasty cross wind that made landing a challenge. But got safely on the ground and the next day made the relatively short hop to Adak. Here are some postcards.

Loving these Joe, that Barron has earned its stripes. Those last 3 shots are superb, very this season too. Hope you had a good Christmas feed when you got the wheels down. 👍

As of my last post I was 91% of the way around, now its the home stretch. From Adak I we travelled through Cold Bay Alaska, Anchorage, Ketchikan, Seattle Washington and finally Oakland California. Biggest challenges were weather and the brief daylight hours in the North. More than a few times used the weather radar to avoid the worst part of the clouds.

Final totals for the trip.

Total Distance 33512 nm with 59 Stops in 31 countries, 185 hours of flying over 64 days and consumed 15,461kg/5086 Gallons/19,254 liters of fuel (Cost per FSA is 23,405 v$)

Since this is the last time I will spam you all on this trip, a few more postcards than normal.

Brilliant thanks for sharing your trip Joe, I can only dream of having enough free time to attempt anything remotely ambitious!
