Here's a short video demo-ing the controls in DCS - I'mnot using MSFS because I haven't got around to repainting the T7 as '609 yet but it would work as well if not better!

Ahoy!
Progress on XL609 continues, this weekend I'll be at South Yorkshire Air Museum for their big cockpit event with some demo hardware (the cockpit itself isn't mobile yet)
We have a working Airspeed indicator! Please excuse the terrible 'flying' in the demo - I can't fly a hunter with those tiny control sticks but this was the easiest way to show things working.
The ASI is 3D printed (except for the laser cut acrylic face and 'glass') and uses single RC servo with some custom scripting on an arduino micro processor and a python script on the PC. Yes, the needle is jerky and it lags behind the simulator but it's a sound proof of concept.
All being well I'll have this running at The Cockpit Gathering in Doncaster this weekend!

That jerkiness is due to buffeting headwind, Bruce. I'm impressed with your work.

Thanks both,
It's quite a time consuming project but it'll be worth it long term, I hope to find a home where it can be made available to the public to 'fly'
I don't post all the updates here so if you're interested keep tabs on the website http://xl609.com
or find us on facebook if you use it!
