Is this the one Tom Hanks exec produced? Apparently he really got hooked on the topic after doing Apollo 11, and thought people needed to have a better idea of what had really happened - bit like him and Spielberg doing Band of Brothers after Private Ryan. It is a Docu-drama that starts around about the point of Gagarin's flight and follows the US space program to the moon, through to Apollo 17. From what I have seen, it is very accurate, far more so than that great film The Right Stuff. I am reading the biography of Niel Armstrong at the moment, and many of the stories that are in there are in the programme.
It is available on DVD, which is how I got it... 5 disks (12 x 1hr episodes (4 disks) + 1 disk of extras).... £44 and worth every penny so far...

Apollo 13 is certainly in my top 3 films, I have lost count of the number of times I have watched it. The launch sequence, including the awsome music is just wonderful!!!!!!!
