I have a habit of jumping straight into an aircraft and taking off and then reading the how to fly manuals later as I have done with the Viscount  That'll teach me.

One of the things I like about the Viscout/Argosy/748 ect is that if you dont do the checklist it will bite you! :)

That sent a shiver down my spine, just remembered the Manchester crash!

Good that you almost made the runway! Good skills!

Have you seen the handling charges at Woodford  , he made the right choice!

Didn't realise just how close to Woodford I was. By the time it dawned on me, I was very much committed to Manchester and couldn't make any more course changes. I admit though, the suspense of will he or won't he make it was a lot more fun.
If this was an Airport movie I would've made it onto the threshold. Those movie aircraft seem to defy gravity and stay airborne longer than possible

Put Dean Martin, Charlton Heston and of course George Kennedy as the ground engineer, upgraded to Concorde captain, then you can do anything!

I was going to say you forgot Jack Lemmon (Airport 77) but his plane did crash, although not his fault. Had Patroni (Kennedy) been flying the Viscount, he'd have made it to Edinburgh, never mind Manchester
