I've just notice that the last shot of the airliners.net photos linked to above shows a PR.9 with two wing mounted pods of some sort (they’re not easy to spot but they are there). I didn't think they flew with anything mounted on the wing as I've only even seen them fly with a clean configuration.

The pods look to my untrained eye similar in size and shape to the chaff dispensers normally found on wing of a Tornado GR1 (and 4?) but they only ever carry the one with an ECM pod on the other wing.

Does anyone have any idea what these are? :think:

The number I've seen getting chopped they probably have just the right number for the GR4/F3 fleets and the SH/ME forces...
