Chris

Kevin meant "American Football" as opposed to Football - one
being Rugby for wuss's and the other 11 chavs chasing a round
ball around for 90 minutes

From a Warrington supporter

A little investigation has revealed that the NFL set up an American Football team in London for a while (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Monarchs) but it didnt really work out so they moved to Berlin.

As for the train, I can answer you that being from that part of the world. After privatisation, the old Network SouthEast was broken up into various franchises, two of which, SouthCentral and SouthEast (the latter of which operated in Kent and the easternmost parts of East Sussex) were first operated by french company Connex. Connex gained the distinction of being the poorest performing rail franchisee in the country and (I think) were the first to be stripped of their franchises. I think it would have been more appropriate to have put an NSE train in there, but hey.

Thing is when it was called Marathon you asked for a Mrathon and you got a bar of chocolate with no confusion with the running race or the Greek city.

They knew what you meant

I find I ask for a Snickers bar as if to make it clear

Probably because as you say Kevin........what on earth does it mean.
