Sorry Guys have to agree with John R - We now have 16 female drivers at my real life job - and frankly Id rather deal with them than some of egotistical, self centered , troublesome male captains we have.

Down Eddie - You know whats funny about our company - our Dispatch (Ops) office is 15 miles from McCarran - I very rarely see any crew members -
Of course I have walked close to the non PC line by referring to a couple of our female captains as Captain darling (NOT Graces father) and Capt Honey
(No realation to Theodore Honey) We also frequeuntly fly with all female crews - which seems to amuse the passengers somewhat

There was (maybe still is) a 747-400 Captain on BA who always hung a pair of blue fluffy dice from the OHP. It was perfect for setting a relaxed atmosphere amongst the crew. It didn't matter how many times you'd seen it, you couldn't help smiling as you walked through the FD door.

This thread has taken a slight turn - so while its off track
Ian - I worked for a trashhauler once who operated B727s for Emery
the fuzzy dice were almost deriguer - hanging from the whisky compass.
The other "mascot" was a stuffed Armadillo that had its own hat, epaulets and tie - and would fly sitting on the throttle quadrant frequently

Can someone tell me what the aircraft is please? Is it an Orion, or perhaps a Nimrod with those Comet like engine instruments?
