Signed up Gary, and passed the link on to others.

This bloody government seems hell bent on going down the road of swords into ploughshares and still expecting our forces to be everywhere at once.

Packing in now, before I really get into my full stride.

Obviously I didn't sign, but I would if I could....

It's the thought that counts....

Some time last year I had heard that one of my former units (TCW) was going to move to Scampton sometime this year. I have just checked and see that they are now headed for Leeming!

I've signed, they can't get rid of the Reds.

Why else would anyone want to join the RN... flash gets... :poke:

(to be serious, i'd be disgusted if this sh*t government abandoned the Reds, they couldn't be more out of touch with the British public if they tried)

My sig with a Philippine address has been accepted even though I had doubts that it would.

Signed, eventually!

I'm cynical enough to wonder if the problems signing are intentional! If the government's reaction to the Road Pricing petition is anything to go by they must be thinking they have opened Pandora's Box with this website. Not that it's likely they will take any notice.

Even thinking of getting rid of the Reds shows how little they are really aware of, or concerned with, the image of this country around the World and how out of touch they are with the electorate.

I think it was Ken Livingstone (not my favourite person but he does do good sound bites) who said that if voting had any effect it would have been banned years ago.

It may well be the case the Government take no notice but it will at least be on record how much they are acting against the wishes of the people who elected them and as a result they undertook to act in their best interest.

Too many times elections are fought on making a change by promising to govern closer to the real issues and wishes of the electorate.

Once in the attitude changes to one of do as you're told we are in charge and know best.

So even the failed petitions are winners in the support of the argument for reality.

Why is it that we have to have online petitions now to stop our allegedly democratically elected govt from screwing up the country anyway? :huf:
Err, you've lost me there Toby. Two questions:

One. What was part of the last election was undemocratic? Seemed exactly the same as any other election to me.

Two. Do you know the difference between your arse and your elbow?

As somebody on another forum pointed out to you, you really should go out more.

I'm tired of the cliquey nature of this forum - mods could you remove me from the database?

Trying not to rise to this one, but in answer to point one, fewer than one in four elligible voters actually voted for the party who currently govern us. Aside from the point that perhaps they were too lazy or too non-plussed with politics to vote, it does raise the question, do they (the govt) really represent what most people actually wanted?

In response to your second point, the elbow would be a hinged joint midway down the arm and the arse would be a slang term for the posterior.
