I'm an (very early) 80's baby. I guess I missed a lot of great sights.
Hehe, I don't need reminding, my laptop pops up a spreadsheet telling me how many days I have to go before I retire.....

R-R used to have an Open Day at Hucknall, not annually, just now and then. They advertised a 'US Navy Aerobatic Aircraft' as one item in the programme and when this item was due we could see a 4 ship orbiting in the distance, and wondered what they could be. Then the commentator handed over to the USN Public Relations Officer and we got the 'Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the US Navy's Display Team for 1973, the BLUE ANGELS!' we nearly fell over with shock. That was the one and only time I've ever seen them, but very memorable.

Way off topic for a Hawker Horsley I'm afraid, but good memories nonethelss.

Still off topic
Were you there in the 70s for an R-R Open Day when the Blue Angels flew in with their F-4s? Jaw dropping it was.
Oh YES. May 1973 before I had a camera

For some reason I caught a bus there from the centre of Nottingham instead of driving. :dunno:

And that is also the only time that I have seen the Blue Angels.
