We used to take our gas masks,(airman for the use of)out of the case, stuff it down the front of the jacket, and replace it with a four-pack. Used to fit nicely.
Sat in a fox-hole at night, pull out a can of Bass best bitter, and pretend to sneeze, whilst pulling the ring-pull, to cover the sound of the gas escaping. (I didnt say that. Honestly.)
