Denise Lewis...

One thing I noticed about her (the wife did too so it must be true) was that it almost hurt for her to pay Jess Ennis a compliment over the 2 days of her heptathlon. If I noticed it.. it must have been there :-O After each event, instead of saying 'well done Jess.. that's put you in a strong position for the next event', it was always a case of 'Jess did well in that event, but....'. 8)

No doubting she's an attractive wench though. I like Denise Lewis.. and I like Jess Ennis.. but which one's better? There's only one way to find out.... FIGHT!! (apologies for dragging Harry Hill into this)

I saw a lot of this in the television department in the Cambridge branch of John Lewis. I was almost on first name terms with the staff by Wednesday.

'Perhaps sir would care to come back at 3 pm ? The ladies synchronized diving will be on'

'See you then'

That's because you can't resist checking this thread, Garry  I consider it my duty to keep you up to date with events and I know that if I post the news here you won't miss it! If you got a telly you could watch old movies instead of reading my posts

Anyway, not to worry, there'll never ever be another summer of joyful British celebrations like this one. Not in our lifetimes. When it's over we've got war in the Middle East to look forward to, followed by the collapse of the Western economy and the world domination of China. You can have my telly then - I prefer happy things :(

Ian :)

Bradley Wiggins, who won a gold medal in the Olympic games (did I tell you that?), is also a mod! He is a fan of Paul Weller, the modfather. I see how such spooky coincidences make it difficult for you to avoid connecting with the Games!

Am I being naughty enough for you, yet?
