I had a quick fly over, looks the right shape, but the trees are all wrong type for this area, i will endevour to get some shots of this area tonight as im on tonight. I will take my Spadeadam Scenery off and show what ORBX looks like. UTX had this area well done TBH and with the right trees.

Yes.. that was my thought too 8) Despite me living in 'FSX Default' land now (that is.. minus ORBX).. since installing FTX England, it has changed something, somewhere as I'm now seeing Runtime errors even without FTX 'live' as it were. Most bloody annoying :| Not sure how I'm gonna get out of jail.. perhaps a new fsx.cfg will cure it. Visualfx.dll is the current thingy in the woodpile. Why this and why now.. who knows :dunno:

A search reveals that this could be due to the default flight. A new fsx.cfg could fix it.

Hi George :hello:

Funny.. I just saw you replying to a similar question over at UK2K and here you are

Sadly, the new cfg hasn't cured it :( I loaded up.. set a few things to how I want them.. screen res, mesh, texture, that sort of thing and there I was at Friday Harbor. Poodled around for a min or two then changed to the default glider. A min or so more.. landed.. chose Rick's Chipmouse. Noticed what looked like a Carrier in the distance and as I got closer, it was Hermes followed by Glamorgan with Andromeda ahead :-O Never knew they went up there :-O They must be an artifact of a traffic file I downloaded yonks ago which puts carriers all over the shop. Anyway.. after landing on Hermes and sitting to have a goof and wonder why they were here.. up it came again.. R6025 Virtual Function Call.. visualfx.dll being the app mentioned on the log.

I see there are variations on a theme as to what causes it. A few mentioned bad programming on addon aircraft (I don't see why this should be aimed at the Chippie as it's never done this before). Over at SoH.. AI appeared to be the cause. Seeing my carrier group off Friday Harbor had me wondering about that! I think I'll remove that file anyway :worried: The one I liked best was 'uninstall the program related to the error and re-install'. Err.. ok 8)

They send these things to try us George.. they send these things to try us :(

Hmm, I have never trusted FTX since I puchased their first pack for Australia. It completely messed up my system and I needed to reinstall FSX :'(

I have to admit George.. I'm a big fan of coincidences and having never seen this error prior to installing 'England'.. you can see where my suspicions lie 8) Perhaps now is a good time to cut and run with FSX anyway even though I've not been using it for long in the grand scale of things. Reinstalling GenX will be a royal pain in the butt as area 2 disc 3 appears to be faulty. It doesn't give a fault but I get 'Waterworld' from around where PaulK lives, East.. Duxford standing a proud bastion of England before the European hoardes  Ben lent me his disc to cure the problem ;)

To do it right, I guess a lot of the things that came with installers NEED to be uninstalled too to work as they should.. it's all a bit too much to contemplate for now. I should have bought those v3 discs shouldn't I  SWMBO would hang me out to dry if I bought em now though :worried:

Never mind.. I'll plug on for now. Perhaps I can pull the visualfx.dll off an old install and lob that in. It can't be any worse can it ;)
