I'm using P3D V2.2. As others have suggested as well it could be a problem with simconnect.

P3D doesn't appear to automatically install Simconnect and because of this my new A2A Cherokee purchase didn't work initially until I went into the P3D folder under REDIST/INTERFACE and installed the FSX-SP2-XPACK simconnect module. Then it worked and so did the 125 gauges :)

Unfortunately I've now gone and lost the FA-18.dll file as I did a clean reinstall of P3D after completely removing FSX. Ooops.
Am hoping the FA-18.dll file is in the FSX ACCELERATION pack somewhere. Will go looking..

EDIT: Seached through my FSX Acceleration CAB files but still can't find the F18 gauge :(( Anyone know where it hides?

Cheers

Adam

Hello,
I want to say first , I hope you won't think I'm being critical
It is a very nice model.

I'm haven't a little issue with the brakes. Admittedly I was hot on the landing, but even at normal speeds the brakes seem to lock up and I start skidding.

And help, If allowed, would be helpful.

Here's a 19 sec clip.

I've only flown it twice Joe (too much on and not enough time spare!) but it may be the lack of suspension travel causing this.. coupled with your 'hot' landing. You can reduce the braking effectiveness in the aircraft.cfg..

[brakes]
parking_brake = 1 //Parking brake available
toe_brakes_scale = 1.7 //Brake scalar
differential_braking_scale = 1.0 //Delta on the amount of brake when the rudder pedals deflected
auto_brakes = 0
hydraulic_system_scalar = 1 //On brakes dependant on the hydraulic system, ratio hyd system to max brake hyd pressure

... the toe_brakes would be the one to go for (decreasing the value gives less braking)

but.. you DID come in rather hot and trying similar in a Cessna will have the same effect :lol: I mention the lack of suspension travel because I have Garry's Viscount and Vanguard AI models.. both of which work great except for one thing. He didn't know how to set up suspension so the models dig in or go tail on the deck as a consequence under braking. I can't help with that I'm afraid.. or your hot landings :lol:

You have probably done this already but, if not, assign the "Brakes anti skid on/off" button which by default is left blank, in both FSX and P3D.
Also the air brake can be primed, shift+/.
A touchdown speed of around 105mph, I think, was the norm.

Hello Rob,

Thanks for that tip. I've applied the adjustments, no skid problem now. ... or whiplash.

... Very Nice ;)

Loving the 125.

I'm still getting it doing this sort of "rearing up" nearly onto its tail (much like a stallion) when I first load it on the runway. Then it calms down. I did try making changes to the aircraft.cfg as mentioned earlier in the thread but it still seems intent on doing this odd movement.

Did the real 125 really have all that power? I'm having to throttle right back in the climb to avoid an overspeed while climbing at 4000 fpm+!

And I'm seeing either 80 kts or 90 kts for the stall speed with full-flap. I thought I'd take the safe option and assume 90kts so am approaching at 115-117kts going on the 1.3vs rule.

Anyway am enjoying trying to tame this lovely little jet :)

EDIT: Oh and thanks for the tip about the air-brakes - will save me spilling tea over the keyboard while trying to hit the / key!

Regards

Adam

DaveG wrote:TBH, I think the contact points are a bit odd. The damping ratio is set at 5.6 for the nose wheel and 11.99 for the main gear. Values should normally be between 0 and 1.
I've dropped mine down to 0.9 and 0.54 respectively (values taken from the default Lear) and that seems fine.
I don't seem to have a contact point section in the aircraft cfg.

, Granted it'd been a couple of years before this last install of fs ...it should be there ... Maybe I better clean the spectacles .

Or maybe confusion with fsx.cfg?
