Yes John.. you can do it that way if you want but as you say, there are certain things you like in place and others you will let go (I speak for myself here too) I recently did a VC10 flight LHR to EDDF in what should have been ARVB (an 1101) and did the flight in ASIX (an 1103) because I like that particular BUA paint. FlyNET wasn't fussed as all it saw was VC10 but I wasn't best pleased as I didn't change the reg as you described. I've done that before and searched for a particular paint/reg at a later date and not been able to find it as I didn't change the reg back again at the end of the flight :worried: :poke:
It's certainly less 'disc consuming' doing it the M$ way but on the DC3 in particular, looks pretty naff as you end up with two reg's showing in spot view :dunno: Horses for courses mate and whatever you're comfortable with

Right on, Dave, I wouldn't impose my way of doing things on
anybody, isn't that just one of the great things about FS - that there
are so many ways to do things.

At the risk again of sounding as if I'm telling others how they should
be doing things, I guess you know you can eliminate the
"double registrations" on the default DC-3 with atc_id_enable=0 in
the aircraft.cfg entries? It eliminates the wrong one for what we
are discussing, of course . . .

Welcome aboard Tim. Instead of seeing a lot of your work faithfully reproduced in AI, you'll be flying 'em too

Any probs.. just shout

I'm sure you've read the important bits but a brief recap..
Landing lights on below 1000ft agl and off above 10000ft..
Do not exceed 250kts below 10000ft
Do not exceed 25kts on the ground.

Pass JohnP your type rating via FlyNET PM and add the Dove for good measure. This will enable you to travel from your current location to pick up an aircraft at another location without having to buy a ticket and you make a few bob doing it as they're fare carrying flights

Hi Steven

Welcome to the forum and the VA

There is an awful lot of information available here.. some of which is easy to find but in the event you come across something you don't understand, fire away a question (the crew room would be a good place) and one of our pilots will get you sorted in no time

Wishing you many hours of happy flying

Thanks Dave

I know if I am getting too much, the swipe round the ear, followed by "I'm going to bed now, see you in the mroning" from my wife is usually a sign :worried:

Sadly my wife goes straight to the "see you in the morning..." part, and leaves out the swipe.....
