I thought you might
Of all the aircraft to choose, the Hunter really isn't a good example matey. While the RN versions had a tailhook, they were for training only and not used for carrier ops. The Hunter landing gear isn't up to it for one and there is too much aircraft aft of the landing gear to make it a viable proposition. Of course, in flightsim.. we can do what the heck we want and walk happily away
You have fun

Having trawled through the various pages of this thread for ages now, don't you all think it might be time for a forum dedicated to all things wet and wavey? All talk of carrier ops and the various AI (and sailable) FS9 and FSX boats available, and of course there's all the cruise ships that are doing the rounds as well.
I'd appreciate a forum where these can be discussed rather than having to delve into a loooong thread every now and then.

Hi Mate,
It would be a different kettle of fish if there were a large selection of Classic British Ships, but alas not. I'm affraid for the foreseeable future there won't be a separate forum for all things fishy.

For Auster driver:
Forget trying to land a Hunter on a carrier. I suggest that you try the Hawker Sea Hawk from 'nazca Steve' - website 'Flying Stations'. That acft lands very well on an FS9 carrier and is, like the Hunter, a real British classic.

SkippyBing wrote:If they're AI traffic routes, it looks like two formations following different routes that have a start/finish point in the same location. As far as I know from reading the SDK and a few 'incidents' AI shipping traffic cares not for collision avoidance, I actually had a crash once as a sailing ship decided to cruise through the Vic while I was sat on deck, the mast hit me!
Not 100% sure if that applies to shipping following routes as the yacht was autogen traffic that appears pseudo-randomly near coastlines etc. I should probably set up a couple of traffic routes to find out!
It's possible you flew in one direction the selected an AI carrier. Then changed direction and selected again thinking the first hadn't worked. You'll now get two carriers or fleets converging. Not sure but it seems you can keep selecting ships and adding them. They also remain if your flight is restarted.

I will have a look at that later on tonight.

One sits very near to the ground in a Sea Hawk so you might find it helpful to try some ccts and bumps at a shore station before attempting an arrested landing aboard a carrier.
Good luck and please remember that a jet does not accelerate as quickly as a piston engined acft.

The Chase is on..
Intelligence reports from the Resistance suggest Admiral Graf Spee is making ready for sea at Brest so the Fleet gathers..
A sillouette appears on the horizon. With no naval or merchant activity in the area, it can only be the Graf Spee..
ENGAGE! Graf Spee is within range of the KG5's 14" guns..
The Fleet is out of the enemies torpedo range but not of their 11" guns so must advance with some caution. Will the clear weather hold, they're already starting to run out of daylight. Only time will tell..
