As per my comment in Crew Room, training TR On VC9 please.

Re: Gaining and maintaining Type ratings
That is three times now I have had FS9 with the VC9 CTD part way between POL and MARGO, plus the CTD on the ground at Edinburgh.
Can I skip the Edinburgh trip and do Jersey then Gib please?

Re: Gaining and maintaining Type ratings
Of course Ady
I wish I knew what the hell was causing the CTD though I remember one particular area where FS9 would spit out.. not here mind.. western Europe. If I look at the maps, I'll remember it. I used to think of it as the Bermuda Triangle of VOR's!! If I routed south.. no problem.
Have you had difficulties with other aircraft at these points or is it just the 953? Dare I say it but it sounds more like a scenery conflict than the Vanguard.

Re: Gaining and maintaining Type ratings
I'm actually wondering if it "elapsed time" related.
First time I tried the route I was climbing at 250 knots (not climbing very quickly obviously) and got all the way to Edinburgh.
But the time I forgot to start FS Airlines I did the whole trip (climb at 250KIAS) landed and parked.
Beats me. I don't imagine it is due to the number of instrument panel windows I have open on screen two as I have loads open with Concorde.
So frustrating.

Re: Gaining and maintaining Type ratings
No.. I doubt it's the number of windows open too. As you say, you need 2 at most on the Vanguard.. not exactly demanding by any standards. Regarding elapsed time.. all my flights are at x1 but I'm sure others must have ramped it up on the Vanguard over the years so while this is possible, it seems unlikely given the issue hasn't been reported before to the best of my knowledge
Reading again what you've said.. you can do the flight without FSA ok but 'Live' you get the CTD? It doesn't make sense does it

Re: Gaining and maintaining Type ratings
I will have one more go without FSA, if that works I will rebook the flight and try again with FSA. Can't see why that would make a difference but we will see.
I fly it with all the overheads (apart from upper O/H) open plus the radio stack, throttles and GPS, all undocked and shoved across to second screen.

Are there other VC9 variants or is that the two, pax and cargo?
