Robin, though I stated it was a strange but wonderful feeling on my first solo flight inside me.........I had a belly load of butterflies!!!

No other way to explain it is there??
The instructors were telling me that the previous week, they heard a cadet singing on his solo as he was tense he had his finger on transmit button.

Oh it's funny what you'll hear on the radio during first solos, especially at towered airports. Grand Forks being a towered airport and where all UND students have to do their first solo, it can be interesting, especially when someone like Northwest, Mesaba, or FedEx showed up. We used the big runway almost exclusively for solos, so it was a great experience for the newly soloing pilots to have to follow a 727 or DC-9 in.

2 years and 10 months into my air force career, I'm still yet to fly 'solo' so to speak.
But they are planning to let us fly the Merlin as a crew on our own in about 5 weeks time
