I'm still waiting for an idiots guide to make Ark transcend the FS9/FSX divide
Dave, you know there's an FSX version of the Ark don't you?

Yeh.. right!! I remember seeing posts that efforts were being made to get it to work in FSX but not that it had been done

However.. I now expect to be having rather more fun in FSX than has been previously possible (I don't have FSXa but I did port the Alpha Enterprise over yonks ago and forgot about it) :cpu:

Dave, without Acceleration you won't be able to do catapult launches and arrested landings (well you could try Flight Deck 5 or something but you'd be better off spending the money on accel) but it'll still move around and the deck will be solid.

Just saw Rick P is working on a Leander so I won't bother scanning those plans in then!! It's not as if I haven't got enough on anyway :D

Skippy, One thing about the Ark is she always seems to take a while to draw. Do you know if she will still work if I convert the textures from BMP to DDS?

The Glamorgan looks great, but guess this is getting a little OFFTOPIC for this thread now!

Should do, try a couple of the obvious ones first, if it doesn't let me know and I'll re-export it. It does use rather a lot of textures, primarily because I didn't really know what I was doing when I started!

and now back to the topic at hand.

Off Topic is what we do best, and I'm not going to kill the momentum by starting a new thread :D
I might have a go at some buildings for the yards... Camell Laird, Vickers, Barrow etc. The default FS lines up well with the real world coastlines, but with GenX its even better. It would be nice to see the ships tied up near something 3D rather than looking down from a birds eye perspective, which looks great with photo scenery.
