Thanks Guys.
I can see now just how much headache these models cause,i was reading a bit on one off the web sites that was suggested, the one i read was for gmax,by the time i had finished reading it,a couple of hours had passed by,and my head was spinning,i also looked on the web site suggested for the sdk`s,but did not download any,as i was confused as to which one or ones needed.
I know GMAX is on my disc 1,but is this a full GMAX,that is free or will i have to register this and pay for it,before i could use it.
I did buy FSDS3,but never got round to loading it in my computer, its around somewhere though.
I have a scanner/printer,so i should be able to scan any aircraft 3 view plans into the GMAX or FSDS3 which ever i decide to use.
I have a couple of aircraft in mind for a project, but it will be an uphill learning curve no matter what i decide on,so get the men in white coats ready,i might need em.
regards alan.

Hi Alan
Gmax is free but no longer supported
Still it is as useful as ever
You need to register it but it costs nothing
Google Turbo Squid and download and register there.

it is each to their own, I like GMAX, and is very easy and adaptable, and a much better interdface, but is not FS dedicated. so as long as you learn all the commands and areas you need to get a model from it, it is a great program, where i do all my FS models. FSDS is a dedicated program, and payware, and so is very user friendly for FS, but i find the program too difficult to use compared to GMAX

Hi All.
Today i got round to installing + registering GMAX.
I went to FSdeveloper to downlod the SDK`s,but it shows 15 files for fs2004.
Which ones do i need, the one listed as GMAX says it as 4 SDK`s included.
But do i need any of the others.
Also how do i set GMAX up,for modelling in fs2004.
And which progs are recomended for making panels + instruments, for the models i attempt to do.
And how do i go about making sound files.
Advice needed please.
regards alan.

Hi,
I would suggest you first head over to a site like the Freeflight Design Shop. Read the beginner's tutorials (especially about installing the GMAX SDK and getting your first aircraft into FS), and then just keep reading. The forum is quite helpful too.

Hope this helps,

Fsdeveloper has a gmax installation guide which will take you though installing Gmax, the SDKs you need and how to set things up.
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.p ... for_FS2004
For panels and instruments, all you
need are a paint prog and notepad. The paint prog for the bitmaps, and notepad for the XML and panel.cfg, but I would highly recommend FS Panel Studio (
http://www.fspanelstudio.com/)

Thanks gUYS.
i joined fsdeveloper yesterday, but no matter how i looked,i could not find the help file link,i must have been a bit sleepy,i will give these a looksee.
Once i have everything set up correctly,it will be a case of trying to gather all the info for the aircraft i intend to do,while i learn how to use the new tools at my hands,i dont expect any results that quick,i suppose its a case of gently gently catchey monkey.
