rebuilding the Comet --- 100 to sit and taxiing in a 75 year old aircraft -- cheap at twice the price :)

I have to say, I was very tempted the first time they did them at the August show. There's only one or two opportunities per show.

Lots to look forward to next year, including another Luftwaffe addition in the Fieseler Storch, and the continue restoration of the Spit V. :)

You still have the Typhoon (Kick Ass Plane ) a BAF F-16 and the French Red Arrows (patrouille de france) , :yipeee: :yipeee: I hope it can do this VTST hope that it will prove possible to display XH558 at least one more prestige event before settling in for winter servicing, for the list of aircraft check here http://www.airshows.org.uk/2008/airshow ... eview.html the Two Gloster Gladiators I take it one off them is the new TFC one? STUPID

Forgot to say that if you dont know this already but at Duxford could also be the last sole Hawk display.

E-gads James..

When you've seen one solo Hawk display.. you've seen em all. If it stopped flying tomorrow.. I don't think there'd be much mourning done ;-) Now.. if the 'Reds' used Typhoon's.. that'd liven things up a little

I liked the hawk display , I was hoping for next year they would use the spare Red Arrow that they bring down for displays Red 10 I think it is.A Sole Red Arrow hawk display. I guess they cut the hawk display as we have 9 off them in the red arrows . It would be good to have the typhoon in the Red arrows but I dont think the RA livery suits the typhoon. ;-) 9 Typhoons in afterburners :yipeee: :yipeee: :tab:

James..

Red 10 is there as a backup aircraft in case any of the others have a fault. Wherever the 'Red's' are.. Red 10 will not be far away :) You've really got a grip on this lark haven't you ;-)

Right.. I'm off to bed as unlike some of you gits.. I work 7 days a week!

I seriously need THAT plug in Garry!!

Dave/Charlie - does the TFC Glad had a wooden prop or Metal?

Someone once told me the weight of the wooden prop made the Mercury sound different - more smooth -- Dont know wether the old bloke was BSing me or not
he did do his apprenticeship on them ;)

Lastly - Charlie - are they still doing demonstrations with the Hucks starter? it was a wonderful piece of kit to see in action , and you said Storch, this to go with the Sieglitz they have?

Yeah I know Red 10 follows them well apart from when they go to Malta Red 11 goes :dancer: : but I have never seen Red 10 been used at a display. I remember when one of the reds got a bird strike on take off but they never got Red 10 out they just stayed as an 8 ship formation thats why I said get red 10 as the sole hawk ,I now bet someone on hear is going to post a shot of red 10 in formation.

Oh I thought you were retired dave :worried: :worried:

I get me coat

Red 10 is a spare aircraft, the Reds only have 9 display pilots, and each has his own position.
If an aircraft goes tech before a display, Red 10 can be used, but once airborne if a pilot has to leave the formation due to birdstrike of other failure then the rest have to carry on without.
If you were watching a display that included Red 10 from the start, you probably wouldn't notice.
