Leif, you certainly have a valid point there - I was at that game and will never forget that career ending injury to Joe T. For those across the pond, Lawrence Taylor, linebacker for the New York Giants, stormed across the line and tackled Theisman, snapping his leg - a very gruesome scene, the memory of which still turns my stomach.

But have you ever watched a Rugby match? No helmets, no shoulder pads and very little down time during the game. You have to be in fantastic shape to play because there is very limited substitutions - only for injury.

What attracts me to American Football is the intricacy of the strategy involved in individual plays and play sequences. It is rather like a chess game. Rugby has always struck me as more of a melee than anything else, perhaps the stategic elements of the game are more elusive, to me at least.

Yep. That way if the Cowboys start losing a game the roof can be slammed shut quickly to shield God's eyes from the horror of it all. ;-)

Yes, God could see through the roof of Texas Stadium but the owner of the Cowboys would probably still charge Him for admission. :@ The wife and I LOVE the TV show Coupling...although it kinda went downhill after Jeff left the show. :-(

Yea, Dan Snyder (Redskins owner) is not much different, always after the fast buck - but at least he doesn't prowl the sidelines during games like that jerk Jerry Jones.

Re: Coupling - yes I agree the show was never the same once Jeff left - I thought he stole the whole show.
