and spelling almost correct - it is "paedophile" - must be some Greek or Latin in there!
Thanks Ian, just could not be bothered to have copied it into word for a spelling check!!
From Jims' post.
The lady concerned was entitled to her privacy and not to have a passing stranger take a photograph," said the sheriff.
Sorry, but I cannot agree with that statement from the Sheriff, any-one who is out-side is in full public view and cannot expect to have privacy. Having said that, he should have asked whether he could take a photograph of her but we all know what the reaction or answer would have been..don't we!! :o

The respect privacy in public is a no no otherwise CCTV would not be allowed.
The Sheriff was wrong there

Absolutely right Garry, but as a C.C.T.V. Operator, we have to follow a strict Code of Practice and that is not to monitor people without reasonable cause.
I am not interested in those who are carrying out their daily, or in my case, nightly routines but if any-one arouses my suspicions or I have just concerns for a persons welfare, then I am able to monitor for either a possible offence about to be committed or for their safety i.e. drunk female alone and at risk. Even then, I have to justify my reasons on numbered Log Sheets that are retained for six years so that in any event of a complaint forthcoming from a member of public about being unfairly monitored, I can show I had good reason to.
Should I mis-use the cameras and there followed a complaint which is proved against me then I would be cautioned under disciplinary proceedures or even reported to face criminal proceedings.
So even with C.C.T.V. or Big Brother as many will call it, the public are protected from invasive monitoring.
Regards
Nigel.

I left the Police over 20 years ago and it is nice to see some things don't change ie domestics. i was always taught take two steps back before walking in.
As to helping kids and photographs on one summers day I was on my beat at Hyde Park. It was covered by the Met then. Al ittle girl naked ran up and said she was lost. I took her hand and took her to find her mum, who I found no problem. As I did I heard the click of a camera and found out it was a setup by the Evening News or Standard who duly paid Mum her fee. It appeared that night in the paper under little girl lost sort of thing. Good PR for the Met. OK so far.
However two or three weeks later a letter appeared in the paper with the photo subject ' Perspective Pornography'. I was really miffed. It does show how some minds work.

That is sickening - what sort of mother would use her child in such a way?
