'EP landing at Brooklands may be on the 'Brooklands Aviation' video that was/is(?) for sale at the museum. I've got it but is has been a while since I looked at it. There was also a video about the last flights of 'EP from I think the Ulster Aviation Society, there may be some footage on that but I doubt it.

There's a lot of Vanguard (and Viscount) footage on the 'Vickers Props Farewell' DVD from Avion Video. Worth a look (although the last flight of 'EP won't be on it).

My curiosity made me get that DVD out and I've been looking at it for the past 20 minutes, brilliant footage but indeed not the last landing of 'EP. My money is still on that Brooklands video but I'm not able to check that now (I can look at DVDs on the computer here, but my better half is keeping the TV company and I doubt that she'll be interested in a Brooklands video right now).

I have the Brooklands video (hardly surprising.. AND I bought it!!) and I can't remember EP landing on that. It'll give me something to watch again tonight though

EDIT..
Shows how long it's been since I saw that video! There's about 10secs of EP landing right at the end of the vid :welldone:

you brits built a plane with reverse??

noway :o
Reversing the Vanguard was a part of base training...We did a sort of three point turn out on a open space. You could also reverse away from a stand if circumstances waranted it. I remember I did a bit more reversing on my Command course.

Naturally it was only pilots of Peter's ability who were allowed to use reverse in flight in order to try the legendary three point turn and lomcevak approach into Kai Tak (drinks trolleys had to be stowed in advance). :prayer: :welldone:

Hi Guy's..

Just heard today that the run for the 15th has been cancelled. Apparently we have a problem with #1 (though I've yet to find anyone who knows exactly what this problem is :dunno: ) but importantly, we cannot get fire cover on that day. This must mean none of the other aircraft/engines will run either. Not sure exactly WTF is going on tbh but this is Brooklands to a tee

Sri chaps.. looks like it'll be the new year now :-(

Well I was having trouble clearing the 15th...I might be luckier in the New Year.

Dave do you have a Postcode for Brooklands?...Makes it easier to call it in GPS
