I sometimes take a boat out from McLeland Seaplane Base and drive it down Russell Fjord to the foot of the Hubbard Glacier...Then I bear left a bit and head towards the open sea. At that point I pass through a bay that I'm sure was named by Captain Cook...It is called "Disenchantment Bay" and having read up about the Hubbard Glacier I feel that Cook probably arrived at its foot during one of the periods where the glacier closed off Russell Fjord and thus prevented his further exploration in that direction

Ian,
Hehe, I spent a lot of time looking for all those geographic "Nigel" places and I must confess I had a hard time finding some of them. ;-)
I suppose I can blame being visually challenged or perhaps they are hidden in some very remote part of the planet and are not included in FS even as add-on scenery. OK, I couldn't find any of them, but this in no way diminishes the accomplishment of all those explorer Nigels, brave lads all even if they sometimed ended up in the wrong hemisphere, virtual or not.
Happy Easter to you too!

She certainly does, Tony! Very tasty (recipes)
Anyway, back to work creating the Alaskan 'eritage Flight. Got a good selection installed now. Erick's MD80, 732 and 722. HJG's 707-320. CalClassics CV580 and DC-6. And a nice repaint of the default DC-3. They're all set up as AI. They spend most of the day on display at Juneau and in the afternoon they leave within 10 minutes of each other to overnight in Anchorage and fly back home in the morning. At least, that's the plan
I've seen the DC-3 off on its inaugural flight but I haven't tracked anything else yet. But what could possibly go wrong

Blimey Ian...what with your Kai Tak and now Glacier Bay you will soon have to get some flight plans sorted out to commute between the two.

Don't forget Manchester and Bermuda which both have a full set of retro AI! I think I'll have to be a Senior Airport Manager and employ individual managers for each one! I certainly won't have much time for flying the damn things

The DC-3 did get through but the other two propliners tragically disappeared from the radar during approach. :-( Might be something to do with the mountains
Oh well - never mind, serves them right!

Sorry, Jim! You know what I'm like when I hit town. I don't do things by half, I bring the whole entourage with me. First I take over the airport and then fill the skies with dirty, noisy aeroplanes that fly around on their own day and night!
But this time, I haven't been made welcome at all and I think I can lay the blame squarely at the feet of that airport manager up at PAMA! He's upset the locals with all his aerobatics and flying upside down all over the place. The locals are being very obstructive by putting Cessnas in front of my historic jets. Two of them had to do three go-arounds before they were able to land. And two of the propliners have gone missing in very mysterious circumstances!
If this continues I'll have to consider moving my base to PANC (where I've always been made welcome in the past) and fly into Glacier Bay for short breaks. I'll just keep a floatplane at PAJN to explore when I get down there!
Ian
