Here's a copy of it at 800x600. I know I have a larger one somewhere but I need to track it down.. 8x6

Yes.. that IS the mark of the devil.. the great unwashed that you see at the bottom of the RH column. It's an unfortunate fact that some folk here only make new models for 'X' now so when I have to test.. I drag the icon out of the 'Unused' folder and put it at the bottom so that it can be easily removed again

Dave, as you have repainted the AS Halifax recently, I wonder if you ever came across these photos ? They show a rather dilapidated G-AHYH at Newcastle Airport ( presumably as a kind of gate guardian ) and show some detail of the Lancashire Aircraft Corporation markings around the nose. There are only 4 pictures in total but rather than post them without the gentleman's permission, I'll just give the link:

Hi Paul..

I just typed a reply and popped back to the shots before hitting the submit button and when I came back.. the text had gone! Don't ya love it when that happens

No.. not seen those shots before and never seen a shot with any of the Mk8's/Halton wearing the company name on the nose. I wonder if this was a later thing or just a one off paint for that aircraft. Noticeable by it's absence is the LAC logo which would've gone above the aircraft name. AHYH was indeed Air Merchant so that bit fits  In fact, it was Air Merchant II.. the original Air Merchant being AIHX. Again.. while most if not all of their fleet had individual aircraft names (I'm pretty sure they all did), not all had it painted on. No idea why this was :dunno:

Smashing shots mate and a great find

Hello Mate..

Yep.. my thoughts too ;-) I wouldn't say I have every LAC Halifax shot in existance but I do have a few and that is a new one on me :) I'm not sure what happened to her when she left LAC. If anything, you'd have expected to see that on show at Blackpool rather than Newcastle but there you go. I don't know what the date is for those shots but 'YH' looks pretty well vandalised. I'll have a dig and see what I can find ;-)

EDIT..
That was easy.. quick too! She was stored at Newcastle after the Air lift (where she'd completed 313 tanker sorties as it happens!) and remained there until scrapped in '49 :cpu:
