Yes indeed.. that's one way of looking at it I'd not considered  There were and are of course the Tribuses but they, like the K2, K3 and K4 were already secondhand. Will the new Scarebus replace them too??

I suppose it depends on spares support but the reality is there are not many TriStars flying....about 25. so new parts support might be limited :dunno:

That might mean a load of spares from parted out but second hand used bits is not really state of the art. :-(

Maybe we can have our version of the Confederate Air Force and fly a Ten tanker to refuel the Vulcan

It would be great though if they did keep a display Ten flying as a moument to an early jet airliner, troop transport, medivac and tanker

BTW From what I saw the other day on a site there seems to only be one of the ex BOAC/BA flying....is this true???? :-(

Hello Mate

A quick shuftie on Jelles site would suggest that ZD241/ex ASGM is the only K4 flying. How did they sneak all the others out without us noticing :o

Yep...now you mention it 'SGM was the one I had.

Sad to think that's the only BOAC aircraft still flying..........I think

Unless one of their Daks still creak arround in some dark corner of the world

Now THAT would NOT be beyond the realms of impossibility

The sad news is that there are things passing.. little bits of history however small like, for example, the last BOAC aircraft still flying which to my mind, are worthy of note and they're going quietly.. without fuss.. forgotten and not noticed. Surely.. this is no way to go :-(

Well let's hope, when the time comes, Brize repaints one in BOAC! Better still, BOAC on one side and Transport Command white/grey on t'other! :)

Nah...nice BOAC since it's a Super :)

Whichever way you look at it though it is the end of many an era
