I have to admit I haven't read much new stuff in a while now - certainly not fiction. Having said that, I've enjoyed reading for the first time and re-reading some of Len Deighton's excellent works, both fiction (XPD, Goodbye Mickey Mouse, Bomber) and non-fiction (finally ploughed through Blitzkrieg. Awesome book).

As a result of the latter I'm now about to start my first pre-WWII german book, Field Marshal Guderian's "Achtung Panzer".

Yes, it's very good, Paul.

I'd just like to bring the thread back to the original point, though. I posted it to urge novel lovers to read 'The Other Hand' by Chris Cleave. I've read many of the books that have been mentioned and they are all good. But this is exceptional. Read it now - before you get run over by a bus! The others you can read later!

The problem is, if it is that good, you might not be able to put it down and end up walking under the aforementioned bus. Not sure I can take the risk!

Hmmm. Good point. You could always sit on a railway line on a Sunday and read it. Should be safe enough there
