Aye mate. The bike is built from scratch to the riders requirements.

Unfortunately I could'nt afford the gucci groupset this time. It has an decent but basic gear setup.

Only the Mountain bike has the full package with top notch stuff on it.

I always advise when buying a new bike to consider the frame & forks before anything else.

All the bits that dangle off it can be replaced and upgraded in time. The frame is something your stuck with.

Its still very light (just over 17Ibs) and makes hill climbing so much easier.

I think the bell would do Eddie no good, Garry. At the speeds he travels (46.6 miles in 2:02:34) he'll have already plowed down the pedestrians before he'd even have a chance to ring his bell.

It always amuses me Brian.

The law says we have to have a bell and yet shops sell the bikes without. If found riding without then we can be fined.

So going trough the lanes I often hear 4X4 the same width of the lane roaring towards me out of sight round the next corner. Of course the on board music system is blasting out decibels that can be heard a great distance away.

So the monster appropaches...music blaring, engine roaring...but I have a secret weapon

I raise my finger onto to the button and push............ding, ding, ding, it sounds......bet that put's the sh!ts up the oncoming driver

Seriously.....what's the point when the law doesn't insist that a driver be capable, as much as possible, of hearing another road users alarm ???:wall:

I agree Garry, some cycle legislation is well due an overhaul.

Most bike shops should provide a new bike with reflectors and bell as standard by law. They don't half look silly on top class expensive cycles.

Now entirely sure on the rules, but it does includes all new bikes whether they cost £100 or £10000.

I have never ever used a bell.

On the odd occasion that someone isn't looking or just steps out in front of me as I approach, I just use the power of bad language.

Never failed me yet.
