I will be getting this addon after Christmas. Looks great and it has a Royal New Zealand Air Force Repaint.

Does the PC need to be connected to the intenet to activate the aircraft?

Many thanks for the nice spot comment.
I hope Badgerman gets it sorted, its a nice model, not British but good to have, one of my favorites
after some British ones, Lancaster, VC10, Vulcan etc

Austindriver,

Internet access is REQUIRED for installation/reinstallation.

Techy and Colin-G,

I've tried both of the tricks you've mentioned. I tried flying a Cessna around before loading the QW, and it the 757 still crashed. Likewise, I'd seen the posts about the FSDT sceneries and th add-on manger fix... don't have any FSDT scenes but tried anyway, still crashed... I'm wondering if it's something buried in the deep dark depths of FSX tha somehow doesn't recognize the "acceptance" of the QW757.gau as being trusted software, or the fact that the license is loaded in my other account... I "shared" the license, but that didn't work either.

I can at least fly the QW757 around if I use the other account, just not with the benefits of REX and UT2 which I've gotten rather used to. Since I'm running Win-7, and therefore "unsupported" I really appreciate the help and advice you've offered. Some day we'll get it figured out... You're right, it's not British, and not quite classic, but it sure is one nice package!

Hi Techy,

I tried that patch on the weekend... nada! I even tried dropping it directly into the panel folders and all the usual tricks to get things going, but no joy. It "is" one of the reasons I suspect it's got something to do with that file though - when I delete the QW757.gau file, I can get the aircraft to load - but of course then I have a complete lack of instruments, and the "other" problem of the aircraft not displaying it's main gear, and all the flaps/slats etc. are fully down... and pretty much locked down!

I had half a mind to change the config files to have the QW load my old Open Sky 757 cockpit... but decided that was kinda like replacing my Benz with Ford... :-O

Again, appreciate the help. When irritating issues like this crop up, it's great to have a second brain trying to think through solutions - I tend to get caught up in a loop and find myself repeating things I've tried before!

Mark ( Badgerman )

Dont know if this may be of any relevance but in my FSX main directory I notice the following
are present ; bglmanx DAT File, bglmanx.dll, bglmanx_aerosoft DAT, bglmanx_fsdt DAT File,
bglmanx_qwings DAT File.
It's the last one, just a thought, is it there.

Hello Colin-G,

Yup... they're all there. I have to admit, it's simply puzzling beyond description. Why it works fine with one account, but not the other... curiouser, and curiouser, said Alice!

Thanks for the help!

An update for anybody else having problems...

My Windows 7 downloaded it's latest service pack and the latest C++ executables... and now the QW757 works fine. A bit slow on the framerates (max 15... that's really low for my machine) but far better than the 1 frame/week it was running at before. All anomalies with this add on have disappeared.

Thanks again to Techy1111 and Colin-G for the support they offered!

Cheers and Happy New Year Gents!

Mark
