Hi Eric
Cheers

If I may be so bold.. we have 2 folders on PEP for visitors to look through, one contains pics specifically of PEP and the other is for all other Vanguards. I can't guarantee our Team Leader will print/include any you post here to either folder but I'll want to know why if he doesn't

Would you mind me copying any you post for inclusion in those folders?

DaveB wrote:PES was the only Vanguard painted up in Hunting Cargos final (then current) livery.. all white fuse with blue fin and gold Hunting horn. I wish to goodness PEP had been painted that way too as it'd have made it a great deal easier to repaint
And quite nice she looked too!

Hi Dave. Please feel free to do so.I know I have a couple more shots of APES which I didn't post. Not sure that they're sharp enough for printing but I will try to remember to include them in the next batch.I am scanning slides at 400 DPI.EricT

ps Dave.I've just checked and I still have the originals of APES which I can send to you if you wish.Although I mentioned that original slides will be sent to Steve Gensler.there are some which are being discarded after scanning(just a question of quantity).I'll hang on to these for the time being though.EricT

Hi Jelle
Yes.. that's a great shot and one I used as reference for my APES paints

We have an affinity with the Swiftsure team and do what we can to keep in touch and supply whatever bits we can to fill the holes on what's left of her flightdeck. Swapping is the order of the day but occassionally, they have something we can use
Eric..
Tks for that

Digital copies of your scans will be just fine. I'm not sure how large 800x600 will print but I can get around that

ANY Vanguard shots will be much appreciated.. especially as 99.9% of the ones being used at the mo don't have the users permission!

It'll be nice to 'break' that tradition

Of course.. any ones used will have the source noted

Sri Eric
Tks for that Jelle. I enjoyed the 'WTF' remarks

There seems to be more than a fair smack of 'it was the Vanguards fault' in the thread but as was pointed out, the major culprit was BEA.. AGAIN! How good they were at making poor decisions

Anyone who buys a model like that should not be allowed near a Vickers product, anyway I guess there is a market for junk....
Yes, BEA did have a way of beating a design down to something unsellable in the end. Interesting thought though: would we be just as enthusiastic about British airliners if thousands had been built, they were as common as a 737, there were heaps still flying and you could get a full sized cockpit/airliner/any part for a fiver at the local breakers yard?
